It will be the sixth event under the Hard Justice chronology and the eighth event of the 2010 TNA pay-per-view schedule. Although originally promoted as Hard Justice, the event was specially renamed as "Hardcore Justice" due to it being scheduled as a sort of a homecoming for Extreme Championship Wrestling alumni-themed event. Despite World Wrestling Entertainment owning the rights to ECW, the event is being produced as a reunion show for former ECW talent.
