Below are comparisons between the King of Pop and the King of Rock n' Roll:
Both deaths have been hounded by wild talks. Elvis has been suspected of still being alive to this day, while there have been reports of a "shadow" (supposedly of Michael's) spotted inside the Neverland Ranch just before his burial.
Both of their doctors were suspected of giving too much or the wrong prescription drugs to the singers. Both doctors were cleared of the charges.
Both Neverland and Graceland were designed to shield Jackson and Elvis from the spotlight. Graceland is a colonial-style mansion scaling 13.8 acres to ensure no observer can easily look in (except through a bird's eye view). Ditto with Jackson's Neverland which is so huge - thus, impenetrable - that it has its own theater, zoo, and carnival inside.
Both were accused of racism. Presley was panned for being the white guy who allegedly prostituted black music (gospel, soul, rhythm and blues) for sales. Jackson was accused of being ashamed of his skin color, hence, the allegations that he bleached it.
Both were ridiculed for health problems in the twilight of their careers. Elvis, for his "Fat Elvis" period; Jackson, for his multiple reconstructive surgeries.
Both have loved the same woman, Lisa Marie Presley. Lisa is Elvis's daughter who later married - then promptly divorced - Michael.
Both were heavy substance users. For Michael, it was painkillers. For Elvis, amphetamines.
Both are on the lists of best-selling artists in terms of collective album sales and hit singles. Michael has the biggest selling album, though, with "Thriller."Both continue to earn after their deaths from sales of merchandise and reissue and rare-tracks albums.
Both have pioneered unique dance moves. Michael for the moonwalk and the crotch-grabbing, Elvis for the shaky legs.
Both have been inducted to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
Both are known for their distinctive singing styles. Michael, for his high-pitched voice that peppers songs with hiccups and "chamone;" Elvis, for his deep, nasal voice with its uneven vibrato.
