Susan Boyle, fame like a "Demolition Ball"

Susan Boyle, fame like a "Demolition Ball". Susan Boyle was just another face in the crowd. Now she's anything but. The 40-something singer went from obscurity into mega-stardom virtually overnight thanks to her appearances on "Britain's Got Talent." The sensation sat down with Meredith Vieira of "The Today Show" to talk about her troubles with her sudden fame, as well as her new (and top secret) album.

Ms. Boyle described the journey from anonymous singer to one of the most famous faces in the world as a bit like being hit with a "demolition ball." The sudden fame didn't cause the singer to "crack" as many tabloids hypothesized. However, it did leave her utterly exhausted, which is why, she says, she spent five days at Priory Mental Health Clinic.

Things seem to be looking up now. She has a book deal, several movie offers, and there's even a Susan Boyle doll. The doll seemed to be news to Ms. Boyle who looked both delighted and embarrassed to see her likeness in action figure form. And, of course, there's a record in the works. Boyle was mum on the details, leaving viewers to believe there will be some surprises. A duet with Eminem, perhaps?
